BRAND IDENTITY, CONCEPT
Envisioning a parasitological research centre as an educational and tourism destination in a region virtually bereft of parasitic infestation, MoPS is positioned as a stimulating and fun scientific learning centre with a mission to raise public awareness of the threat of parasitic diseases on the Scandinavian horizon. From aesthetically pleasing flowering plants to menacingly troublesome microorganisms, MoPS displays the beautiful and the bizarre as a way to communicate to the public insightful and actionable information to fight off and minimise parasitic diseases and plagues. To make parasitology accessible to the public, approachable visuals are paramount to balance out the repulsive subject matter.

DISCOVER & UNCOVER
MoPS is primarily an educational and research centre; therefore, a deliberate selection of monochromatic tones is essential to represent this didactic image.

A REIMAGINATION OF SORTS
Hundreds of thousands of parasites with diverse characteristics and textures, each with varying degrees of repulsiveness. To avoid unwanted negative or adverse reactions, and to make things a bit more visually pleasing on the eye, images for promotional purposes are processed in monotone. Moreover, several symbols representing types of parasites were also created.

PARASITICAL KEEPSAKES
Beyond its role as a research centre, MoPS is committed to making learning both fun and visually engaging. To bring this vision to life, a collection of unique merchandise—featuring “fun-shaped” parasites, or the "creepers", takes centre stage. From books and postcards to specimen jars and collectible pins, these playful designs transform parasitology into an interactive and memorable experience for visitors.

NAVIGATING THE MUSEUM
Navigating a museum can be confusing, so a well-designed wayfinding system is essential. This is where the usage of bold typeface and parasite icons come into play, guiding visitors seamlessly through the museum and exhibits.

BREAKING THE RULES
MoPS hosts exhibitions and science fairs, where stepping outside the norm is essential to keep things fresh. Take these exhibition posters, for example—they break away from the standard visual system, using unique layouts to create a distinct and engaging experience.

OUT-OF-HOME COMMUNICATION
To accompany the opening of the museum, a series of out-of-home designs featuring parasites as the main focus was created, aiming to spark amusement and curiosity.
